Umpachene Fall
Not exactly open to public. Only open to resident of the town but I snuck in.

Sanderson Brook Fall/Chester-blandford State Forest
An interesting state forest with unpaved roads through the whole forest (but most are actually closed if you manage to get an updated map that's not on the website).
Moose droppings. Yes, I saw the same moose some time later. It prance through the forest before I was able to get my camera out. First moose I saw in all the years of running around in the forest.
What's more fun than a moose? Well, nothing really but I found some edible mushrooms. People familiar with Chinese medicine would be jumping up and down when they see this. I saw this out the corner of my eyes as I bounce through the forest after the moose encounter. Collected this one (a little moldy and chew up but seems ok). Found a couple more but they were in worst shape so I left them alone.
For the main reason to visit this place: Sanderson Brook fall. Pre-spring flow is still quite impressive. Should try to come back in late spring to see if it's more interesting.

Mohawk Trail 10/17/2015
Took this trip with a co-worker close to (but slightly younger) my parent's age. Trip start out with light snow on the ground which foreshadow the crappy weather to come.
Cascade Fall, a really obscure waterfall about 30 minutes walk from someone's backyard. Note to self, come here during Spring when it will look much more impressive.
Bissell Covered Bridge
How did that flower get there? well, see the next part
Bridge of Flower, a foot bridge maintained by a local club. Surprising how many flowers are on the bridge considering it was late Fall. The flowers were frozen which gave them an even more interesting look.

High Ledge.
French King Bridge. A bridge right on the Mohawk trail with a nice view of the river.

Tully trails, just a ledge and the dam because there are too many to visit.
When we get up to the ledge it was a white out condition with high wind and flurry. It took about 10 minutes for the clouds to move out of the way to give us this view

Glacial Potholes, quite cool rock features.

Rt 116 10/16/2015
Quick trip through scenic Rt 116 in MA
Wahconah Fall, a small interesting place.

Burkeville Cover Bridge

Bullitt Reservation, maintained by The Trustees of Reservation. A group similar Mass Audubon.

Chapel Brook, another reservation maintained by The Trustees. This place is fantastic because it has a multiple waterfalls on the same stream and a great overlook of the area on top of some rock outcrops.

A charoal kiln protected by DCR. This area has a weird off-road route connecting to another town. I wasn't in the mood to investigate further.

Tannery Falls in Savoy Mountain State Forest. This is not a easy place to get to since the road is not maintained (even has a sign that said "use at your own risk" at the start of the road). Very glad my car was able to take me there without any fuss. Did have to avoid a bottomless puddle at the entrance of the parking lot that probably could have swallow my car up if I didn't drive into the bushes to avoid it.

On the way back, found this random beach area on the side of the road
